DP3T/GAEN for COVID-19

The Decentralized Privacy-Preserving Proximity Tracing (DP3T) is a system that we developed for secure and privacy-preserving proximity tracing at large scale. DP3T provides a technological foundation to help slow the spread of SARS-CoV-2 by simplifying and accelerating the process of notifying people who might have been exposed to the virus so that they can take appropriate measures to break its transmission chain. DP3T is open-source and its repos and documents are on GitHub.

We also published a work titled Early Evidence of Effectiveness of Digital Contact Tracing for SARS-CoV-2 in Switzerland to show early findings about the effectiveness of digital contact tracing in Switzerland.

Google and Apple developed the GAEN (Google/Apple Exposure Notifications) framework based on DP3T.
